We don't push replacement when repair still makes financial sense. A furnace or AC that's under 12–15 years old with a repair cost well below half the replacement cost is usually worth fixing. Equipment that's older, has had multiple repairs, or needs a major component like a compressor or heat exchanger is often at the point where replacement makes more sense over the next few years.
